Products list: Hi, welcome to Taupo's original and favorite backpackers. Rainbow lodge was purpose designed built for the needs of travellers by Mark Dumble (fishing expert??) and Sue Mrozinski, themselves seasoned travellers. They had spent several years on the world's highways and by-ways and having accommodation experiences that are sometimes described as "Character Building" they settled in Taupo, famous for its Rainbow Trout and beautiful scenery. Having had my own character building experiences I came to rest at Rainbow Lodge and worked closely with them for a year before they handed me the reigns. The hostel opened in 1984 and I took over in 2002 and I have been quietly refining Rainbow Lodge to meet the needs of today's travellers! All our rooms are centrally heated for your comfort. 1. STANDARD ROOMS - singles, double, twin, triple or multi-share bunk rooms which have shared bathroom facilities. 2. ENSUITE ROOMS- double, twin or multi-share bunk rooms with their own bathrooms. The beds have a bottom sheet, pillows and pillow slips. Bedding provided on all beds, special request can be catered for (extra blankets, towels, etc.) Doubles rooms also have Electric Blankets. We have an accessible room - pre booking recommended. Female only rooms are usually available on request. BATHROOMS Separate mens and ladies bathrooms are provided for those guests in our standard rooms. KITCHEN The kitchen is fully self contained (including crockery) so you can make a snack or a gourmet dinner. It has gas cooktops, a conventional oven and a microwave oven. There's even washing up equipment for your enjoyment as well! DINNING ROOM / COMMON ROOM This space provides a friendly, informal place to meet fellow travellers, share your travel tips and just relax at the end of your day. FREE PICK UP SERVICE If you arrive in town and find yourself lost, tired or simply overloaded, we offer a free pickup - don't lose our phone number!
