In 1957 Mr. Berry was joined in partnership by Mr. McCready, who operated a branch office in Wellington. Elspeth Buchanan is assisted by technical assistants, Alan Chadwick who holds the degree of Batchelor of Chemical and Process Engineering from Canterbury University, and Virginia Nichols who holds an Batchelor degree with honours in Physics, a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Batchelor of laws, all from Canterbury University. A practice manager / draughtsman, office / accounts manager, three secretary / typists and a receptionist complete the staff. P.L. Berry Associates is a general practice, which deals with all intellectual property matters. Where local clients require protection or advice from overseas, we have a wide range of associates in other countries, with whom we have dealt for many years, who assist us in providing this service. Our New Zealand clients are predominantly from the South Island. Our overseas clients are from virtually every country in the world and like our New Zealand clients, range from private individuals to fellow attorneys and international corporations.
